P90X Phase 3 Begins Today

I have officially survived the first two phases of P90X.  I can't believe I made it this far and I STILL look forward to doing the workouts. These last five weeks are going to be challenging.  In phase 3, I will be alternating between the phase one exercises and phase two exercises.

This week will be all of the workouts from phase one weeks one through three.  For some strange reason I thought it would be easier the second time around but I'm realizing very quickly that it's just as difficult today as it was eight weeks ago. I can definitely see why the muscle confusion concept really helps you to see results.  My body is responding to these workouts as if it were the first time I've ever done them. I'm just as worn out and sweaty today as I was on day one.

When Tony Horton created this workout he knew exactly what the body needed to get great results.  If you've started P90X or plan to start you couldn't have made a better decision. You'll only be mad at yourself for not doing it sooner.

If I would have given in 7 months ago to that lil voice telling me not to do it and that nothing from those late night infomercials really work (except for the Magic Bullet), I would have been in the best shape of my life months ago.  But I can't beat myself up about it now. I can only move forward and be glad that I did finally give in to that lil voice.  You should too! Oh and if that lil voice told you not to get a Magic Bullet and you've wondered if the Magic Bullet really works, I use mine daily. You will definitely need one for your protein shakes.

Core Synergistics

I thought the Plyometrics and Kenpo workouts were challenging but after completing the Core Synergistics workout the Plyo and Kenpo are easy.  After completing Core Synergistics, I had to sit for a second and catch my breath before completing the cool down phase.  This workout wore me out. I was out of it all day.  This workout is part of the recovery phase week so don't let the term "recovery" phase fool you.

P90X challenges you in every phase of this program. Just when you thought you had a break here comes Core Synergistics! Whew! It works every body part in every way imaginable.  The whole focus of this workout is core training.  It focuses on multiple muscle groups that support the core muscles.  This workout will increase your heart rate and burn fat and calories.  So if you thought the Recovery Phase was going to be easy then you're in for a rude awakening.

Are you still on the fence about P90X? Get off the fence, get P90X and start pushing play. You will so glad you did!

What is BeachBody?

You're probably wondering what is Beachbody.  You probably don't realize it but if you've seen the Hip Hop Abs commercial, P90X, Insanity or Slim In 6 infomercials then you've heard of Beachbody.  Beachbody has the most popular at home fitness programs and have been producing them for over 10 years.  Beachbody is responsible for the most most amazing total body transformations in fitness today.

If you've been following my blog then you know I've been doing the P90X workout for the past few weeks.  I started P90X because I had reached a plateau in my workout program and I needed to shake it up a bit in order to reach my fitnes goals.  After seeing the infomercial several times, I decided to order it.  Since it came with a 100% money back guarantee, I figured I had nothing to lose.  So I ordered it and have been seeing incredible results.

I wanted to share my journey and help others get over the fear of purchasing a program from an infomercial and wondering if they have wasted their money.  I can definitely say that it's a great workout and will challenge even the most experienced pro as well as someone like me looking for a change.

In my previous posts, I've always stated that P90X is not for those beginning their workout programs.  I've decided to dedicate this post to discussing some of the other Beachbody workout programs that may be suitable for beginners, intermediate level and for those wanting something different.

For beginners, I recommend the following workout programs.  Slim in 6 is a workout program that a favorite among women who want to reshape their bodies without creating bulky muscles.  It's designed to help you achieve visible results within six weeks.

Another great workout for beginners or the intermediate fitness level is 10 Minute Trainer.  It was created by Tony Horton the creator of P90X.  It's great for all fitness levels and you will achieve the results you're looking for without having to dedicate an hour each day to your fitness program.  It's designed for people who want to get fit and but don't have a lot time in their schedule to workout.

I also recommend Power 90. It was also created by Tony Horton and a lot of P90X'ers started with Power 90 before graduating to P90X.  It's a great place for beginners and intermediate fitness level to start.

Below are several videos that provide an overview of all of the above workouts.  They also include total body transformations with great success stories.  Beachbody has even more fitness programs and I will continue to feature them along with some of their nutritional supplements.

P90X Phase 2 is Totally Extreme!

I am now on week two of phase two of P90X.  I can definitely say that this workout has changed the way I look at fitness.  I now know that I don't have to spend 12 months or longer getting the body I want. I also know that I dont have to spend countless hours commuting to the gym, waiting for the elliptical or treadmill and then spending time wiping some other person's sweat off the weight machine.  I now know that I can workout in the comfort of my own home for less than an hour a day and see CRAZY results. I can only imagine what I'm going to look like at the end of ninety days if I'm already seeing great results and getting into jeans that I couldnt get above my hips seven weeks ago.

P90X is totally amazing and if you're looking for REAL results without the expense of getting a personal trainer then P90X is the workout for you. Personal trainers are great but they don't fit into everyone's budget.  If you made a New Year's Resolution to get in shape (AGAIN) then you should try P90X.  I promise you you will not give up this time because you begin to see results immediately.  However, I will warn you if you're just starting out in fitness and have never worked out I wouldn't recommend P90X. There are a lot of great workout programs that will get you great results quickly that you can start out with and then move to P90X.  Go to www.totallyextremefitness.com to see what other workouts are available for beginners.  I'm on a mission to help everyone reach their fitness goals.

How I Feel About P90X After 6 Weeks

I just wish I had started P90X six months ago.  I had been watching the infomercials for months now and like most people who sit and watch late night infomercials wonder if it really works. Well, six weeks into the program I can definitely say YES!!! I have lost five pounds and a total of five inches.  When you see results like this it's so motivating!! If you're on the fence about getting P90X you have nothing to lose but the weight. It comes with a 100% money back guarantee.

What is P90X? It is one of the many BeachBody fitness products.  It is a 90 day EXTREME workout program that guarantees your success and results.  It is divided into three phases based on the concept of "muscle confusion".  Most people hit a plateau during their workout programs and P90X is designed to keep you from hitting that plateau and continuously seeing results through muscle confusion.

It comes with a meal plan that corresponds with each phase of the workout. As you progress through the program your diet changes to keep up with the demands of each phase of the workout.  You will definitely not go hungry on this meal plan.  Sometimes you'll feel like its too much food to eat.

So if you're tired of making resolutions to lose weight and getting healthy and falling short of your goals, getting discouraged and giving up, try P90X. You will be extremely pleased with the results and so happy you did.   If you start now you will be ready for summer in only 90 days.  I know I will be!

P90X - Started Phase Two This Week

I'm approaching the end of the first week of Phase 2.  I saw great results with Phase 1 and Phase 2 has been off to a great start.  I really like the results I've been seeing. The inches are literally melting.  I look in the mirror every day and I can't believe what I see in such a short period of time.  Its unbelievable!!  My neighbor noticed my transformation and asked me what I've been doing. I told her I was doing P90X. She mentioned that she had reached a plateau with her workout.  I recommended that she try it.  She stopped by yesterday to tell me she was starting p90x on Monday.

The concept of "muscle confusion" is the key to this program's success. By changing your workout before you plateau improves your results and helps you get the body you want.  Don't just say "this year I'm gonna lose the weight". Just do it and P90X or one of the BeachBody products will help you to achieve your fitness and weight loss goals.

If you're just starting out and P90X is too advanced for your fitness level (believe me this is not a beginners workout). You can start out with a different BeachBody product and work your way up to P90X. I suggest trying Slim In 6 which is a great program or Power90.  The great thing about these products is that you start to see results immediately which provide a great tool for motivating you to keep getting up and pressing play.

So what are you waiting for. Get P90X and press play!

Tracking Your Meals Can Help You Lose Weight

We're all guilty of setting the same goals at the beginning of each year and telling ourselves that this time I'm going to actually lose that annoying 10, 15, 20 or even 50 pounds.  Then by the time March rolls around we've only lost (or gained) 5 pounds and we think that goal or new year's resolution is no longer attainable.

I think what the problem is with most people including myself is that we want fast quick results and if we don't see it then we give up.  What we fail to realize is that we didnt gain it overnight so therefore we wont lose it overnight. It requires patience, a good workout program and changing your eating habits.

I recently read that by keeping a daily food journal you can double your fat loss and actually keep it off.  In the latest issue of Oxygen Magazine, there is an article that provides tips about keeping a food journal and how to get started.  Here are a couple to get you started.  Begin by tracking your normal eating habits for two weeks taking note of when you eat and why you eat. Be honest when tracking your eating habits. When you're honest you're less likely to eat those chocolate chip cookies. Journaling can lead to decreasing your caloric intake by 300 to 500 calories daily which is about a pound of body fat each week.  So try keeping a journal for a couple of months just to see what type of progress you make in your weight loss.  You have nothing to lose except a few pounds!
